Position Summary:

This is a flexible new and unique part-time position at a private Jewish day school supporting the inclusion of 2 students with developmental disabilities.  You may work partial days or full days or a combination of hours.  Some hours may be pre-determined to align with teacher collaboration times.

Duties Include but are not limited to:

  • Participation in developing goals for student growth and learning
  • Curriculum adaptation for students with specialized learning needs
  • Direct instruction for students with specialized learning needs
  • Collaboration and consultation with paraeducators, classroom teachers, educational team and administration
  • Parent communication
  • Participation in planning meetings, parent meetings, team meetings
  • Partners with school based related service personnel and private providers to meet the goals and needs of students

About the Program

This is a new partnership supporting inclusive education in a community based private day school on the North Side of Chicago.



  • Hold or be eligible for LBS-1 and/or LBS-2
  • Experience working with students with significant special needs such as autism and intellectual disabilities
  • Experience implementing community based instruction
  • Must maintain a current certification in CPR and Safety Care, provided through Keshet
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
