POSITION: LRCHC Medical Provider - includes Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician's Assistant

 

SALARY: $180,000.00

 

REPORTS TO: Medical Director

 

LOCATION: Lake Roosevelt Community Health Centers - Inchelium and/or Keller

 

The LRCHC Medical Providers work under the direction of the Medical Director and Executive Director to fulfill the health centers mission. A Medical Provider is responsible for providing ambulatory patient care as a health center clinician with a full panel of patients providing high quality medical care, meeting UDS benchmarks, contact compliance and strategic planning. A Medical Provider must be compassionate, approachable, responsible, and trustworthy. Cultural sensitivity is a key component of this position. Participates with Quality Improvement and patient staffing and collaboration with other facility staff and outside providers. Monitors patient and recommends specialized care referrals. Provides complete, comprehensive, family-oriented outpatient care for patients throughout their life cycle, including health examination and treatment of medical conditions, to include follow-up and any problems detected. Coordinates care with the Medical Case Manager. 

 

Ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of medical care. 

 

Ensuring that all healthcare regulations and safety standards are met. 

 

Conducts routine check-ups of patients to assess their health condition and detect possible issues/medical condition.

 

Works closely with the behavioral health program to provide integrated care.

 

Works as a team member to foster teamwork with clinical and non-clinical staff.

 

Giving appropriate advice for health habits (diet, hygiene, etc.) and preventative actions to promote overall health.

 

Examination methodologies and diagnostics for patient care. Asking intuitive questions to discover causes of illness.

 

Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and the patient's medical history

 

Prescribe and interpret lab tests to obtain more information for underlying infections of abnormalities.

 

Prescribe medications or drugs and provide comprehensive instructions for administration.

 

Ensure patient is aware of and understands any new medication and/or dose changes and provide an updated order to pharmacy.

 

Collaborate with other physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other departments to form a high performing medical team.

 

Examine and provide treatments to injuries and refer patients to other physicians when needed.

 

Keep records of patient's diseases, operations, and other significant information (e.g., allergic episodes).

 

Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for patients.

 

Remain up to date with developments and best practices in medicine by attending conferences and seminars.

 

Reviews policies and procedures and makes recommendations for consideration.

 

Participates on the Controlled Substance Committee and monthly chart reviews. 

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Medical Provider. In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices. Charting of patients within 24 hours. Thorough knowledge of HIPAA, and Privacy regulations. Medical terminology is required for this position. Maintain knowledge of new clinical approaches and methods for the purpose of providing cutting edge services to patients. Excellent communication skills. Ensuring the medical records are maintained, accurate, and complete. Knowledge of general administrative practices including use of all office machinery. Participates in team building, and conflict resolution. Requires sufficient knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation to prepare professional correspondence and write and edit report text. Requires sufficient human relations skill to work productively and cooperatively with other work teams, exercise patience when dealing with internal and external patients.

 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. 

 

Ability to provide primary care in a community health care environment. Ability to develop and maintain confidential health record files. Exceptional organizational skills. Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to keep detailed records. Ability to work as a team member in a fast paces, highly visible, sometimes stressful setting and make sound decisions. Utilization of Microsoft IT applications, Word, Excel, and RPMS applications. 

 

Medical Degree: MD or DO in Family Practice or Internal Medicine. Mid-level providers - PA and NP degrees. Must have training and be board certified with at least five years of clinical experience if applicable. As required per license, CME requirements for continued state licensure BLS, ACLS, PALS.

 

Must have/maintain a valid WA State licensure: MD, DO, ARNP, PA-C and have a current DEA license. Requires a valid driver's license and be eligible for the tribes' vehicle insurance and maintain throughout employment. 

 

Professional conduct, ethics, and confidentiality are always expected. Better than average attendance record. A background clearance will be required. This position is subject to Pre and Post employment, post-accident, and random drug testing. Tribal member and Indian preference will apply. Preference will be given to honorably discharged veterans who are minimally qualified. Will be required to test yearly for PPD. Documented Covid-19 vaccination is required.
