Job Summary

Bristol Health Medical Group has a position for a full-time physician assistant to join a well-established bariatric and general surgery practice. This role will focus predominantly on providing exceptional care in the out-patient setting but will also include a component of in-patient work.

Our comprehensive bariatric program includes two fellowship trained surgeons,  coordinator, patient navigator, bariatric surgery clinical reviewer and In/Out–patient registered dietitians as well as a team of collaborative specialty practices.  You’ll be part of a community hospital and medical staff that is committed to delivering the safest, highest quality care to its patients.

Candidates with one or two years caring for patients in a surgical setting is preferred and new graduates with a medical background will be considered.

Graduation from an accredited Physician Associate program required. Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Valid Connecticut medical license, Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration and Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certification..

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: P.A. will meet the standards and requirements for Adjunct Medical Staff membership as defined in the Hospital’s Medical Staff Bylaws.


Physician will meet the standards and requirements for Medical Staff membership as defined in the Hospital’s Medical Staff Bylaws, including those for Board Certification and licensure requirements.  Physician may not at the time of holding the position, be an employee, principal or agent of any other healthcare organization or other entity.
