Director of Nursing, PPEC

Advanced Care Partners is hiring a Director of Nursing for their For Pierce, Florida PPEC location.  As the Director of Nursing, you will play a pivotal role in leading the care for pediatric families and their children. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead and supervise the clinical services of our Pediatric Care Center (PPEC) through diligent oversight and thoughtful leadership.

 

Here's what you'll be doing:

 

  • Supervise Clinical Operations: Lead the organization and direction of clinical operations, ensuring continuity and quality of nursing care.
  • Implement Nursing Processes: Utilize your expertise in nursing processes to assess, plan, and ensure optimum care for children based on their specific needs.
  • Coordinate Care: Facilitate coordination among a multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless care and service delivery.
  • Maintain Compliance: Enforce adherence to all Federal and State regulations, as well as our internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage Staff: Oversee all nursing and assistive personnel, ensuring professional growth and compliance with health standards.
  • Communicate with Healthcare Providers: Maintain regular contact with each child’s primary healthcare provider and ensure documentation within the medical record.
  • Develop Policies and Procedures: Formulate and implement standards of practice and organizational plans that enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure Effective Documentation: Monitor the accuracy and timeliness of medical records and care plans.
  • Support the Administrator: Assist in staff development, performance reviews, and the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

The Director of Nursing at our facility must be a registered professional nurse equipped with the following qualifications:

 

  • Registered Nurse License: Must hold a current Florida registered nurse license.
  • CPR Certification: Must hold current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Pediatric Nursing Experience:
    • A minimum of two years of general pediatric nursing experience.
    • At least six months of this experience should be in caring for medically fragile infants or children in settings such as pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, PPEC, or similar.
  • Specialized Medical Knowledge:
    • Demonstrated knowledge of home ventilators, apnea monitors, oxygen supply and management, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and special feeding techniques including G-tubes, N/G tubes, and IVs.
  • Health and Safety Clearances:
    • Evidence of a negative TB skin test or chest x-ray.
    • Satisfactory criminal background check.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience in nursing supervision and/or administration is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Mobility and Strength:
    • Ability to stand, lift or assist in lifting individuals as required.
    • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and demonstrate overall flexibility to meet the care needs of individuals.
  • Sensory Abilities:
    • Must possess the visual and auditory acuity necessary to monitor individuals and operate medical equipment.
  • Manual Dexterity:
    • Requires strength and manual dexterity for handling small objects and operating medical equipment.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Must be capable of responding effectively in emergency situations.
