The Sales Representative position is responsible for prospecting, acquiring, and maintaining commercial fuels business, and strategic program business throughout the eastern half of the United States. The major functions of this position include providing consultation and expert advice to clients, representing the company during important contract negotiations, as well as the ability to collaborate with various departments to generate value-added solutions to existing clients through the development of innovative/effective programs. They are also responsible for maintaining the administrative functions required to maintain client satisfaction throughout the sales process. Overall, the responsibility is to market gasoline, distillate, carbon-offset programs, compressed/liquified natural gas, and manage the sales process to increase sales volume and company profitability.



  • Utilize the Sales & Marketing department to develop innovative solutions to acquire new business opportunities in cohesion with the various departments. (e.g., Supply and Logistics departments, etc.).
  • Develop existing territory volume and profitability through offering client-focused creative programs to enhance their purchasing requirements. (e.g., risk management, inventory management, diversified products, carbon offsets, etc.).
  • Present company attributes/programs to prospects/existing clients through an effective sales process (e.g., face-to-face meetings, presentations, etc.) to lead to positive results on a weekly basis.
  • Analyze market data and develop strategies that teach clients management on how their company can buy differently.
  • Grow volume and increase profitability within existing territory by capitalizing on market and supply opportunities.
  • Deliver quality service to customers through order receipt and confirmation, logistics communication, competitive price quoting, and resourceful problem-solving concepts.
  • Work as part of a team environment by providing support to fuels division colleagues/clients as needed. (e.g., during holidays, vacation time periods, covering teammates on outside sales calls, etc.).
  • Diversify the company's traditional marketing methods to capitalize on new strategies to market fuel products and carbon offsets to prepare for the future.


  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Excellent communication skills demonstrating the ability to listen to others, express ideas both orally and in writing, and provide relevant and timely information to clients, managers, etc.
  • Ability to think innovatively to create value-added solutions for prospects and clients in a competitive and commoditized industry to achieve individual and company objectives is a required ability to understand problems and make timely, practical business decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and actively be on the phone while obtaining assigned growth and margin targets.
