Description

The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for the reception area at the Wellness Center.  Includes the greeting of all members, answering phone calls, assisting members with questions regarding spa services and products, booking all appointments, checking the member into the computer system and charging for fitness or spa services performed. Responsible for keeping lounge area organized, cleaned and stocked with amenities and refreshments. Monitor stocking of locker room supplies, maintain supply inventory and overseeing housekeeping’s checklist.

  • Properly open and close the Wellness Center each day according to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Accurately book, change and cancel spa appointments.

  • Acknowledge and greet everyone who enters and leaves the facility.

  • Provide detailed descriptions of spa treatments, fitness packages, services, facility features and hours of operation.

  • Open and close treatment rooms each shift and verify consistency in room check and set-up.

  • Utilize computers with skill and proficiency.

  • Answer the phone promptly and use the member’s name throughout the phone conversation. Use headset when leaving desk area

  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, fitness services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.

  • Maintain eye contact when addressing members and guests.

  • Handle members’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.

  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by members, ensuring complete member satisfaction.

  • Maintain a clean; safe, fully stocked and well organized work area; including refreshment station and relaxation area.

  • Develop ability to work without constant direct supervision and remain at assigned post for extended periods of time.

  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.

  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the department.

  • Assist in all areas of spa and fitness operation as requested by management.

  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or members in the Fitness Center & Spa that require attention.

  • Employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the company as requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Must be detail-oriented and have ability to multi-task.  Ability to be efficient and productive in an upscale environment.  Must be enthusiastic and possess excellent customer service skills.  Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.  Excellent communication, listening and computer skills.  Must be a team player.  Prior experience in Spa & Fitness environment preferred.
