We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager, who is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategic marketing plans and managing the strategy and creation of content that builds our social media communities, brand affinity, and promotes income generation by attracting potential clients, supporters, customers, employees, and volunteers. The ideal candidate develops communications and marketing strategies that encompass a plethora of tools, including media, public relations, internal communications, brand marketing, advertising, direct marketing, digital and social media and production of materials to help support the Lighthouse mission.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Oversee and manage various marketing activities and programs for the organization, including designing print and digital collateral and managing all social channels to serve organizational objectives.
- Utilize problem-solving and critical thinking skills to prioritize competing demands for internal and external campaigns.
- Select and manage ongoing relationships with various marketing, advertising, and public relations vendors.
- Collaborate with vendors and digital team to measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight, and assess against goals.
- Coordinate strategies with community relations, public relations, and organic social media.
- Monitor and reconcile the marketing budget on a monthly basis.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for communicating on behalf of the organization that represent the corporate identity and promote and support the organization's mission.
- Represent the company in a variety of settings, always positioning and promoting the organization in the best way possible.
- Analyze and track campaign performance, making real-time recommendations and helping solidify and operationalize global KPIs and dashboards.
- Actively utilize the organizations donor database and CRM to track and help maintain information on all individual and corporate contacts.
- Responsible for brand management, including brand awareness and adherence to brand and corporate guidelines.
- Ensure brand consistency across all internal and external communications.
- Create style guides and brand voice outlines for all public relations, marketing, advertising, and other vital departments.
- Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises.
- Draft press releases and speeches following organizational news and special events.
- Draft letters, interdepartmental memos, and other business correspondence.
- Communicate with media outlets and journalists; create press kits.
- Develop materials to educate staff on communication best practices.
- Coach and assist team members on improving communication skills.
- Perform communication research and monitor the progress of various communication strategies.
- Review and develop mechanisms for improved internal communications to staff and volunteers.
- Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility by ensuring all communications are accessible and representative of the diverse range of individuals affected by vision loss or blindness.
- Support Business Development efforts by creating and editing copy, marketing collateral, proposals, etc.
- Represent the organization at events and press conferences.
- Identify and create opportunities for social activations, develop strategic plans, and manage the execution and optimization of social media campaigns for the organization.
- Responsible for all social content planning, programming, publishing, tagging, and editorial calendar management in collaboration with various teams.
- Create new and creative ways to use social platforms and digital content to tell stories and build our audience.
- Brainstorm and work collaboratively to generate story and content ideas.
- Assist in developing social media strategy based on best practices, prior campaign and content performance, trends in the social space, and business goals.
- Analyze the overall performance of various campaigns from all social media platforms and provide results and recommendations for future campaigns.
- Responsible for translation of existing social media workflows into actionable processes.
- Monitor social media trends and provide recommendations for the brand to grow usage and engagement continually.
- Develop advertising strategies to increase buyer interest in our products and services.
- Liaison with external marketing, public relations, and advertising agencies as well as designers, and suppliers.
