General Machinist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform repairs and modifications to components as needed.
• Fabricate tooling or fixtures as needed to support shop work orders.
• Interprets technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints, as well as working with our internal engineering group on designs and product improvements.
• Ability to operate various machinery such as: manual milling machine, manual lathe, CNC milling machine, waterjet, and hydraulic press brake.
• Removal and replacement of defective hardware and bushings; assembly and installation of replacement parts.
• Fabricate components to precision requirements of up to ±0.0005” from engineering documents.
• Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments.
• Complete all required maintenance records as stated Nextant Aerospace Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals.
• Accurately record time worked on aircraft work orders.
• Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 3 years machining or trade school education desired
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Must have clean driving and criminal record, pass federal background check requirements
• Demonstrated computer experience in Microsoft Office software products
• Ability to work in a team environment and exercise good judgment in aircraft maintenance and safety
• Working knowledge of CAD/CAM programming software such as Fusion 360, Solidworks, MasterCam or similar.
