EUA is seeking an experienced leader for sustainability in the built environment.  Given our AIA 2030 Commitment as well as a broad portfolio of sustainable projects across multiple markets to date, this individual will play an important role in continuing as well as defining future sustainability related efforts at EUA.  This individual will represent the firm both internally and with our clients and partners and will report to the Vice President.    The position will be filled in one of our three primary locations - Milwaukee, WI, Madison, WI  or Denver, CO.  Candidates from all locations are welcome!..


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This individual will work alongside project teams and firm leadership to ensure EUA carries out its sustainability goals throughout our project development and delivery processes.  This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities depending on the skill set of the individual.

  • Provide leadership and direction to firmwide sustainability efforts and goals

  • Demonstrate expertise and knowledge in current and future sustainable building trends as they relate to the markets EUA serves

  • Identify strategies and solutions for clients that improve the performance, sustainability and resiliency of their project

  • Mentor, empower and inspire employees and consultants to find innovative solutions and to advance their knowledge

  • Develop strategy for successfully incorporating the AIA 2030 Commitment into our practice

  • Responsible for creating and updating EUA’s AIA 2030 Commitment Sustainability Action Plan

  • Leadership of the data collection and submittal for the AIA 2030 Commitment

  • Establish benchmarks for EUA’s environmental footprint and suggest changes to our current processes or solutions

  • Responsible for creating and updating EUA’s AIA 2030 Commitment Sustainability Action Plan

  • Responsible for the data collection and submittal for the AIA 2030 Commitment

  • Ensure EUA’s compliance with state and federal environmental statutes and regulations

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for high performance buildings for all EUA’s markets

  • Develop marketing strategies, business plans and proposals with other firm leaders

  • Develop and cultivates client relationships

  • Lead training sessions and workshops on sustainability

  • Maintain sustainability credentials required (LEED, WELL, other)

The Fine Print
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Sustainability (Built Environment) related field, with 10+ years experience in the Architecture or related Industry;

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership of sustainability efforts and/or building rating system administration on projects (LEED, WELL, etc).

  • Recognized as a sustainability expert

  • Extensive knowledge of sustainable design strategies, material selection, and technologies required

  • Experience with performance analysis / energy modeling software a plus
