Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (CCCM) is a Christ-centered ministry, led by the Holy Spirit. The ministry began with the church located in Costa Mesa, California, and has flourished and expanded into a multifaceted ministry that includes Christian schools, Christian conference centers, a Bible college, a school of worship, Christian radio stations, Christian radio programs, Christian book distribution, and Christian bookstores.

 

Calvary Chapel Schools was established to meet the educational, social, and spiritual needs of the children of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, pastored by Pastor Brian Brodersen. CCS is a ministry of CCCM, building up Christian leaders in mind, body, and soul through Biblical truth, character development, and strong academic pursuits, enabling students to serve and enjoy Christ and their community.

 

POSITION PURPOSE / SUMMARY 

Assist CCS Staff in the role of Instructional Aide, Daycare worker, or Kitchen worker in establishing a learning environment, while continuing to display the love of Christ and be a minister of the gospel. CCS is staffed by accepting, loving, and caring individuals, giving students the opportunity to grow in wisdom and knowledge in a safe, wholesome, Christ-centered environment. The ideal candidate will be a minister of the Gospel in this position and will have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / FUNCTIONS / TASKS

  • Agree with and live out the mission, vision and core values of CCCM as outlined in the Statement of Faith (www.cccm.com)
  • Be an example to those with whom you come in contact and with whom you serve by exuding the love of Christ
  • Understand that it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry and that CCCM staff members are expected to embrace a high, biblical, Christ-like standard of conduct and lifestyle, both publicly and personally
  • Communicate with students parents/guardians appropriately and as often as necessary 
  • Model correct usage of the English language in both written and oral forms

 

Requirements / Qualifications / Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Desire to teach, help, encourage, and serve children
  • Willingness to learn school policies and procedures and work within them
  • Commitment to being punctual, professional, and discrete
  • Works well and able to lead children when needed

 

 

Kitchen Worker Physical Demands

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: fast-paced environment, occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Generally, the job requires 20% sitting, 20% walking, and 60% standing. Employees are regularly subject to heat from ovens, exposure to very hot foods, and to mechanical equipment and metal objects including knives. Some exposure to chemical and toxic substances. High noise level. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Daycare Worker Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Playground or lunch area environment, indoor and outdoor; extended exposure to sun or inclement weather; noise of children at play. Vision to monitor student behavior during assignment. Hearing and speaking to provide guidance to students and to communicate with staff. Dexterity of hands and fingers to participate in various activities with students. Bending at the waist and kneeling; standing and walking for extended periods of time.

 

Instructional Aide Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
