Position Summary:

This position is responsible for preparing intermediate antibody cocktails for various product lines, participating in Proteome Profiler Array printing, and performing in-process Array component testing.  In addition, this position is responsible for BioRobotics MicroGrid II MicroArrayer start up and/or take-down, basic maintenance and troubleshooting. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepares Array detection antibody cocktails, capture stocks, and source plates according to written procedures.
  2. Performs Array printing.  
  3. Performs Array component in-process testing according to written procedures
  4. Prepares and may test other related reagents according to written procedures.
  5. Troubleshoots problematic equipment or components with guidance.
  6. May assist with Array stamping, cutting, and other processing, as assigned. 
  7. Looks for ways to improve departmental efficiency and cost savings.
  8. Manages data in laboratory notebooks, computer databases, paper documentation, etc.
  9. Follows company policies and practices as outlined in Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outline in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance to the job.
  10. Performs additional duties as assigned.



Education and Experience:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biological sciences or equivalent with a minimum of 0 to 2 years laboratory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of laboratory equipment (e.g. pipettes, dark room, computers, etc.)
  2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel. 
  3. Ability to plan, organize and multi-task to complete assignments in an efficient manner.
  4. Ability to pay attention to details and perform at a high-level of accuracy.
  5. Knowledge of safety and company procedures and practices.
  6. Ability to communicate professionally, both orally and written.
  7. Ability to work independently and with a team.
  8. Ability to work hours that conform to standard business operations (typically 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.)
