We are seeking a LADC to join our Youth Assertive Community Treatment (Y-ACT) team. The general purpose of this position is to provide co-occurring substance abuse counseling services to adolescent clients referred to our Y-ACT Program

 

Essential Functions include:

  • Completing client screening and intake assessments
  • Orientating clients to services
  • Creating initial and ongoing treatment
  • Providing counseling in group, individual & family settings
  • Providing case management to clients as needed
  • Responding to and intervening in client crisis situations
  • Develop and maintain appropriate professional relationships with referral sources and community agencies
  • Assess and provide diagnosis for substance abuse disorders
  • Meet with clients and families if applicable to identify needs for services and to make appropriate referrals
  • Maintain records according to the agency policies and procedures along with program regulations
  • Work as an active and effective treatment team member
  • Demonstrate interest and willingness to increase skills and knowledge regarding substance abuse and participate in activities which advance the field of substance abuse treatment
  • May participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills
  • May assist in the training of paraprofessionals in performance of clinical duties

 

Qualifications include:

  • Active LADC license with no restrictions. ADC-T are also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience providing substance use services to adolescents 
  • Ability to document competence in screening for and working with mental health problems
  • Must be free from chemical use problems for a period of no less than 2 years and be willing to sign attestation
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
