Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering, Construction Management, architecture, or a closely related field. Master’s Degree Preferred. Six (6) to eight (8) years’ experience related to construction or engineering in the aviation industry. Experience related to design and construction of airport infrastructure, taxiways, runways, facilities, terminals, hangars, parking structures, airfield lighting. Proficiency with software to calculate cost/benefit analysis, cost estimation, schedule and track information and technical proficiency with Auto-cad. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and analyze situations and make appropriate decisions. Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with other professionals, co-workers, airport staff, tenant personnel, consultants, contractors, and the public. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alabama required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITY
- Strong understanding of FAA Orders and Advisory Circulars as they relate to Airport Planning, Design and Development.
- Performing these duties will involve visually observing and differentiating details; making quantitative computations; preparing written reports; analyzing abstract information; Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearances.
