The American Psychiatric Association Foundation (APAF) seeks a creative, energetic, and detail-oriented Communications Intern who is passionate about mental health and eager to gain real world experience working for a non-profit organization. The Communications Intern will support day-to-day communications activities for the APAF. Responsibilities will include social media marketing; blog/web content development and marketing; message development; data reporting and analysis.
The Communications Intern will work independently and with the APAF and APA Communications teams to fulfill organizational goals and initiatives related to APAF programming.
Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in college or graduate school
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
Ability to multitask and produce high-quality work by deadline
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications a plus
Video or graphic design experience a plus
Interest in communications for mental health issues
Applicants must be willing to commit to 15 virtual or in-person hours per week for the 10-week internship period (June 5 - August 18, 2023). APA provides a flexible work schedule to accommodate academic and work commitments. The Communications Intern will be paid $17/hr.
