Description

Job purpose

Working with partners, managers are expected to lead, mentor and coach team members through DR&F engagements. Responsible for management of engagements and client communications while promoting a collaborative environment to bring value to clients. Dedication and proactive commitment to growth of the Firm and DR&F practice in the marketplace.

Duties and responsibilities

Commitment to Client Service

  • Develops effective working relationships with clients and Firm associates
  • Works effectively in teams to provide quality service to clients
  • Thinks strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks
  • Compiles and presents findings and suggests practical business improvements
  • Maintains client relationships through effective and professional communication
  • Able to develop unique solutions to client issues
  • Promotes additional services to client when appropriate
  • Stays abreast of current economic and business events

 

Technical Skills

  • Leads and oversees the more complicated segments of engagements, including identification of significant risks, development of procedures, reviewing observations and results, and communication of key findings to clients
  • Provides quality control by ensuring compliance with internal (BT methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements
  • Recognizes potential issues and concerns from review of engagement documentation and effectively communicates them to the engagement team and clients
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and understanding of specialized industry and/or regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrates ability to conduct technical research and present conclusions to clients and engagement partners
  • Aspires to serve as a forensic expert in the form of expert report, deposition, and trial/hearing testimony

 

Leading People

  • Builds and maintains positive relationships across the Firm
  • Coaches and develops lower level associates
  • Contributes and supports new ideas on internal processes and client engagements
  • Supervises internal meetings to facilitate effective and efficient planning and execution; sets expectations to ensure the team is meeting applicable client deadlines
  • Reviews work papers, analysis, and reports prepared by seniors/staff timely and efficiently
  • Works with members of the engagement team to identify and resolve any client issues discovered during engagements

  • Exhibits strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
  • Maintains open communication with team and client regarding the progress of completion on projects
  • Gives and receives feedback to minimize repeated errors and apply new concepts
  • Works with a partner to determine the appropriate approach and begins road-mapping the engagement
  • Manages all aspects of billing: drafts budget and fees for clients, ensures budget is followed and engagement is staffed appropriately, and identifies inefficient areas for further consideration
  • Participates actively in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and as a facilitator
  • Utilizes computer applications and relevant technology effectively
  • Possesses a passion for proactive marketing and networking to prospective clients and referral sources, including one-on-one encounters, networking receptions, conferences, and public speaking
  • Utilizes personal network to develop other referral relationships as well as business for the Firm

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Undergraduate degree required, Master’s preferred
  • CPA required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required
  • Maintains the highest technical and professional standards
  • Proficient with forensic auditing procedures
  • Experience in conducting corporate investigations related to misappropriation of assets, financial reporting, contract performance, and other compliance requirements
  • Experience with providing litigation support services, especially involving economic damage analyses and related report writing
  • Highly effective written and oral communication proficiency
  • Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple engagements simultaneously 
  • Healthcare and life sciences industry experience preferred, but not required
