Description

Bear Catholic Campus Ministry is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Director of
Development to join our team. Bear Catholic is a vibrant community of students, staff, and
volunteers committed to helping young people grow in their faith while navigating the
challenges of college life. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, you will play a
critical role in ensuring the sustainability and growth of our ministry by leading fundraising
efforts, building relationships with donors, and developing strategies to increase awareness of
our organization. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about our mission,
has experience in generating financial support, and is excited about the opportunity to make a
lasting impact on the lives of college students.

Coordinate with Executive Director to advance the mission of Bear Catholic

  1. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and close gifts
  2. Scheduling and conducting visits with current and potential benefactors in form of discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  3. Prepare reports as appropriate and submit to executive director
  4. Create and implement quarterly donor stewardship
  5. Work with Executive and Business Manager, prepare the annual budget and maintain accuracy of accounts
  6. Maintain and update database containing donor contact information, donor interactions, and giving history
  7. Plan & supervise direct mail, phone-a-thon, and parish appeals
  8. Coordinate with Executive Director on special donor events
  9. Network with local Catholic and secular organizations to build relationships with Bear Catholic and prospective benefactors in broader Greeley/Northern Colorado area
  10. Manage operational budget under supervision of Business manager and Executive Director
  11. Provide updates to Bear Catholic Board and finance council on execution of the budget

 

Qualifications

  1. A practicing and faithful Catholic in good standing, who loves the Church and sees development work at Catholic campus ministry centers as an essential ministry.
  2. Bachelors degree or higher in Marketing, Business, Communication, Non-Profit Management or another related field preferred.

  3. Computer Skills: Proficiency using Microsoft Office and other database programs. Aptitude for learning and using other systems including using a CRM and Virtuous.

  4. Ability to be flexible, work independently on a variety of projects, within stated deadlines, in a fast-paced office environment.

  5. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to lead and motivate staff, students, board members, donors, volunteers, and vendors.

  6. Familiarity with the tools of the trade in creating development print and electronic communication, marketing, public relations, and promotions.

  7. A valid drivers license and reliable means of transportation.

  8. Must be able to understand and to comply with the Archdiocese of Denver Code of Conduct.

  9. Must be able to complete successfully the Called to Protect safe environment training.

  10. Background screening required.
