The School Counselor will provide holistic & proactive services which contribute to each student’s educational, vocational, & personal/social development. Your FTE status will determine the required number of days you must be present on campus.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students/families in need/crisis
- Oversee Peer Counseling program
- Participate in Student Support Committee and attend Lead Class Advisor/Wellness team meetings
- Handle parent concerns related to the mental development of their child
- Support faculty as needed with questions about student mental development
- Is a member of the Wellness Team
- Refer families to mental health professionals for care when appropriate
- Maintain proper documentation of all work with students
- Is a member of the Wellness and Retention committees
- Attends annual Freshmen and Senior Retreats
- Other duties as delegated by the Dean of School Life

- Make evaluations and recommendations regarding students
- Analytical thinker with the ability to assess situations accurately and act accordingly
