Summary/Objective

The Resident Monitor is responsible for ensuring safety and well-being of clients by providing direct supervision of clients through the implementation of the treatment program.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety and stability of treatment environment. Immediately reports to Shift Supervisor any situations or circumstances which may compromise the integrity of treatment effectiveness and the therapeutic environment
  • Assist clients in recognizing and managing their emotions and thought processes, as well as providing insight on the application of all programming to client’s recovery
  • Make timely referrals to clinical staff when clients do not appear to be responding positively to routine interventions
  • Routinely and frequently observes, records and reports client behavior
  • Communicate with clinical staff as necessary to implement treatment program
  • Transport clients, as needed
  • Supervise self-medication of clients and ensures proper medication tracking and documentation, as needed
  • Monitor ingress and egress of clients and visitors
  • Conduct various counts of clients
  • Work directly with staff to coordinate program security, order and corrective actions
  • Assist in other tasks, as assigned

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Clear criminal history

Qualifications

Education & Training

  • High school diploma or GED, required; Bachelors degree, preferred
  • Valid Texas Drivers’ license and a good driving record
