POSITION SUMMARY

To support the Horizon Scanning department in the production, maintenance, and management of horizon scanning content and systems, as follows: perform research on topics, trends, diseases, and background information; update and format content in databases and reports; provide citations management for all reports; assist Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator and Patient Engagement Specialist with recruitment and comment processes; provide administrative support for project meetings; and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions Statements(s)

  • Perform ongoing scanning for leads on emerging healthcare topics and trends
  • Categorize, prepopulate, and assign leads for Analyst review
  • Perform preliminary and background research on new topics and trends to support topic development by Analysts, if needed
  • Update database records on an ongoing basis
  • Perform data entry and citation management to create accurate reference lists for reports
  • Assist Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator and Patient Engagement Specialist in recruiting physicians, nurses, researchers, health systems experts, patients, and caregivers as commenters
  • Assist Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator with comment process, including scheduling, processing, and follow-up

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Draft bi-weekly status meeting agendas and monthly project progress reports, if required
  • Record minutes for project meetings, if required
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Accountability Metrics:

  • Timely processing of leads for Analyst review
  • Timely and accurate database updates
  • Timely data entry and citations creation
  • Timely and effective stakeholder recruitment
  • On-time completion of other assigned tasks

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • 1+ years of relevant job experience preferred, but not required
  • Fast learner able to perform a variety of research duties in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to distill technical content into reader friendly information
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and attention to detail skills

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in a life science, public health, healthcare information systems, healthcare journalism, or biomedical sciences area is required. Masters degree in areas listed above preferred.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint or other content manager systems a plus
