Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- At least 1 year of Welding and Fabrication experience; Ideal Group will certify in AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Welding
- Possess basic knowledge of computer systems and equipment maintenance
- Must be able to communicate effectively with leadership and teammates
- Must have the ability to read/write and understand both verbal and written work instructions in English, work orders and customer specifications
- Basic math and measurement skills required (addition, subtraction, decimal and fraction conversions); able to accurately read a tape measure
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have authorization to work in the United States
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed
- Able to stand (85%); walk (10%); stoop, kneel, bend or crouch (5%), as required
- Frequent twisting, horizontal reaching, upper extremity push/pull, bending
- Able to wear required PPE; ear plugs, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and welding gear
- Most of the year temperatures inside the plant will match or exceed the outdoor conditions as bay doors remain open
- Weld smoke and metal-cutting machine filtration systems minimize smoke but do not eliminate it. Air quality is below OSHA PEL (Permissible Exposure Limits) guidelines; therefore, Respirator use not required by standard, Voluntary Use only- must have medical evaluation prior.
