Summary of Position

The Director of Adult Discipleship oversees and directs all Adult Discipleship strategies, systems, feedback loops, and resourcing of campus teams to implement and execute these strategies. The director will lead the AD team to run all church events related to adult discipleship. They will build the equipping platform by creating and implementing content and marketing strategies, as well as building systems to help serve campuses & people to grow as disciple-making disciples.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Strong ability to communicate, teach, vision cast, and execute vision

  • Advanced theological & writing training

  • Exceptional organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail

  • Self-motivated, teachable, and an eagerness to work with other teams 

  • Significant collaboration skills with other teams & people 

  • Previous staff management and leadership experience 

  • A member of the Summit Church (or willing and able to become a member)

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration w/Campus Pastors, other central teams, & Steering Team to provide leadership in alignment initiatives between weekend worship, discipleship environments, and campus environments

    • Work with the Executive Pastor of Campus Ministry to ensure themes and objectives are being pursued throughout the church.

    • Advocate with campus pastors and central leadership to leverage Equipping resources

  • Staff development: Lead, develop, and build cohesion on the discipleship team to accomplish the disciple making vision of The Summit Church.These teams are Prayer, Stewardship, Baptism/Membership, Equipping Classes, Small Groups, Women’s Discipleship, and Young Adults

  • Create and implement necessary ministry strategies

    • Oversee all content development

    • Develop vision & content for Online Discipleship Hub

    • Work to ensure that Equipping resources maintain theological integrity

    • Oversee marketing strategies for Equipping resources, including social media

    • Coordinate with other Summit staff as primary contact for Equipping resources and initiatives

  • Develop new content, events, and resources

    • Prioritize research and development of new content possibilities

    • Periodically write and teach

    • Develop written and verbal proposals for new ideas, resources, and initiatives

    • Identify creative and innovative ways to scale content delivery

    • Regularly contribute to Equipping resources and initiatives at any level

  • Build and refine organizational systems and structures for increased effectiveness and efficiency

    • Develop needed foundational documents and policies to continue refining Equipping Handbook

    • Create systems and structures that ensure quality and efficiency for Equipping resources

  • Provide general oversight to the Prayer ministry of The Summit Church.

  • Provide general oversight to the Stewardship ministry of The Summit Church.
