The Senior Communications Specialist, Media, is responsible for creative story development, media relations, and donation advocacy brought to life through various communication channels. A strong writer and a seasoned communication professional, this role is critical to external communication efforts to help LifeCenter Northwest further its life-saving mission.

We are seeking someone for a temporary position for approximately 15 hours per week. 


Communication & Marketing Tasks

  • Leads strategy for social media and stakeholder engagement.
  • Bring donation and recipient stories to life through written stories, video, and media interviews to be shared across LifeCenter Northwest social media channels, blog and website, as appropriate.  
  • Creates social media content and updates LCNW external website for general public.
  • Support HR with recruitment efforts through website, content creation and relevant social media channels.



  • Excellent knowledge of writing and editing standards, including grammar, punctuation, spelling and vocabulary.
  • At least five years of relevant work experience in media, communication, and/or other related marketing fields.
  • Ability to create graphic and digital designs for reproduction using Adobe design programs or Canva. 
  • This individual must have the ability to manage websites using basic HTML and have experience with WordPress.
  • This individual must have knowledge and ability in the use of social media, including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and scheduling platforms.
  • This individual must demonstrate operating knowledge of computers with a demonstrable, intermediate level skill (at a minimum) with Outlook, Word, Excel and other comparable software programs.
  • In this capacity, and with the influence this position carries across the organization, this individual must actively foster an organizational culture based on collaboration, support, and constructive communication, i.e.: organization skills, ability to work effectively under deadline constraints, effective written and verbal communication skills, judgment and problem-solving skills, education and training skills.

Based on considerations of various state requirements within our service area, Organ Procurement Organization industry practices, our hospital and community partner requirements, and our commitment to the safety of our people and communities, LifeCenter Northwest has made the decision to require members of our workforce to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including a booster shot.
