We are looking for both Teachers as well as Associate Teachers

 

The Peninsula Jewish Community Center located in Foster City, CA is hiring for Leaders/Teachers and Associate Leaders/Teachers for our after-school program, Treehouse at the PJCC. We are looking for a positive, energetic Teachers/Associate Teachers who enjoy working with children and as part of an awesome teaching team.

Our teaching staff is responsible for planning and facilitating our Treehouse after-school program for children primarily in grades TK - 5. Programs and activities include weekly swimming, arts and crafts, homework time, science, drama, and themed programming.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities for this position: The Teaching team works closely to ensure the proper supervision of children at all times and are responsible for planning and implementing recreational activities, homework assistance, snack and enrichment opportunities that support the children’s learning.

The team is also responsible for assisting with transportation from schools to the PJCC via PJCC vans and busses.

 

Schedule:

Available from 2pm – 6pm (Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday) and 11:30am – 6pm (Wednesday)

 

COVID-19 Considerations:
Must wear a mask at all times. Small stable groups of children. Curbside pick-up and drop-off.

  • Temperature screenings
  • Social distancing guidelines in place
  • Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place

Qualifications

For Leaders/Teachers:

Completed 12 units of approved Early Childhood Education or related course work in Education or Psychology. Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, or Teacher permit strongly preferred. 2 years related experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Jewish Culture and traditions is a plus.

For Associate Leaders/Teachers:

Completed 12 units of approved Early Childhood Education or related course work in Education or Psychology. Associate's degree in Child Development, or Teacher permit strongly preferred. 2 years related experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Jewish Culture and traditions is a plus.

 

Certifications/Licenses:

Valid CA Driver’s License and a clean driving record

CPR/First Aid Certification
