Valid teaching credential or Educational Therapy Certificate required.

Bachelor's degree in math education, related field, or special education with a master's degree preferred

A minimum of five years of experience teaching, preferably in various grade levels in math or special education.

Preferred expertise in neurodiversity and/or Special Education

Deep knowledge of California’s Math Framework and best practices based on the newest research in math education

Knowledge of Map Growth a plus

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and families

Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills

Experience developing and leading professional development workshops and coaching sessions

Familiarity with technology tools and resources for math instruction

A proactive approach to this position is necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Middle School Math Specialist works primarily indoors in a classroom setting. They may need to lift and carry classroom supplies and equipment. They may also be required to attend school events and meetings outside of regular school hours.
