Description

This is a general listing for currently enrolled students who are interested in internship opportunities at Cascadia Health.

Cascadia Healths internships are for individuals interested in careers in community-based integrated healthcare. Internships are designed to provide mentorship, experiential learning, opportunities to develop new skills, and exposure to nonprofit management. Some interns will have specific job roles while others will have project-based responsibilities. While interns work under the direction of a single supervisor, they may have the opportunity to work with people throughout the agency.

 

As an intern, youll have:

  1. Cascadia orientation
  2. Exposure to various departments/divisions within Cascadia
  3. Access to training and workshops on topics including Mental Health First Aid, Gender 101, Trauma-Informed Care

Eligibility

All internships must be formally established with a university/college/training program via an affiliation agreement/contract with Cascadia. Requirements & Expectations

In order to be considered for an internship, each individual must:

  • Pass a Criminal Background Check (CBC): Interns shall receive a Criminal Background Check (CBC) through Oregons Department of Human Services via Cascadias People & Culture Department (at no cost to student). Placement at Cascadia is contingent upon submission of results of required CBC. Prior to receipt of a students final fitness determination, if students receive preliminary approval, they may be engaged in orientation, training and work activities that do not include unsupervised contact with those receiving services. Students disqualified by DHS/Background Check Unit (BCU) will be immediately disengaged from placement. The students placement may be reinstated if an appeal is processed by DHS/BCU and the disqualification is reversed. Please see FAQs for more info on the CBC.

  • Follow and adhere to Cascadias confidentiality requirements, including the federal Health Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), Cascadias client confidentiality policies, including any and all applicable Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) and Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) which support client confidentiality.

  • If accepted into an intern position, complete Cascadias onboarding process, including agency orientation and student/intern documentation.

  • The applicant must demonstrate a commitment to helping underserved members of our communities.
