The Front of House Manager is located within a destination of choice Continuing Care Retirement Community! The campus is vibrant, inspiring, stimulating, park-like and is situated on beautiful Lake Burton, just minutes from Nashville. There are 200 beds and a current census of 120 residents. This position will be managing twelve to sixteen Front of House staff members for the three Independent Living dining rooms (all with varying hours of operation). There are also catering events! The schedule will be typically Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 8pm, but can change depending on business needs. We require two years of Front of House management experience, in a fine dining or high end food service environment. Training, Catering, Healthcare or Senior Living experience is a plus!

The Front of House Manager, reporting directly to the Director of Dining Services holds duties related to assisting with day to day operations in the Senior Living Community. The position entails a need for excellent communication skills; ability to multi-task, strong team leadership and ensures superior food and beverage quality and strong customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedules, trains, manages, and develops staff
  • Manages budget and inventory
  • Trains and supervises staff
  • Assists with catering events
  • Manages culinary program in conjunction with Morrison Living culinary and marketing team
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with staff, culinary and production team
  • Works with vendors to increase positive cost results
  • Oversees financial aspects of the account

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing others - Strong Communicator and demonstrated by ability to interact successfully with a variety of people
  • Excellent computer skills, self-motivation, excellent planning skills and able to make timely and competent decisions
  • Ability to keep track of large inventories and budgets
  • Ability to work the business hours as the workday can to late afternoon, evenings and weekends
  • Have a quick grasp on what needs to be done and demonstrates a desire to lead
  • Creativity while not overseeing the attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of the business as well as has knowledge of the market
  • Finance, Loss Prevention, and HR experiences
  • Prefer a college degree and management experience, particularly in the food & beverage industry
  • Certification in service training, alcohol service, safe food handling and first aid
