Job Description

Fabricates custom designed components by interpreting blue print specifications, using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, welding equipment, and machine tools. Reports to the Production Foreman and responsible for consistent and efficient workmanship in a team-based environment, meeting customer deadlines with quality finished products.



In-Shop and In-Field Responsibilities

  1. Read and interpret welding blueprints and specifications.
  2. Work closely with engineering team, developing and completing prototype weldments and fabricated parts as well as modifying and repairing OEM equipment.
  3. Build fixtures for welding production parts.
  4. Verify parts to stock lists and blueprints, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers.
  5. Utilize MIG and TIG welding equipment along with plasma cutter, acetylene torch, drill press, saws, and ironworker.
  6. Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists.
  7. Inspect, and test completed products to verify conformance to engineered specifications.
  8. Assist production floor with electrical generator assembly.
  9. Completes all timekeeping requirements to track labor in jobs.
  10. Completes all quality control paperwork per job as directed.
  11. Notifies production foreman upon completion of assembly.
  12. Adheres to the assembly process in place while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  13. Other responsibilities as designated by and at the discretion of management.

Minimum Education and Work Experience

  1. High School Diploma or GED required. A technical school certificate in welding/fabrication preferred.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years of fabrication or welding experience.
  3. Experience welding carbon steels 18 gauge to , stainless and aluminum preferred.
  4. Manual lathe experience preferred.
