Optical Technician

Responsibilities include fitting, teaching, and follow-up care of optical patients. Knowledge of patient accounts and entering of optical charges is a must; inventory control and a thorough knowledge of each optical department is vital as this person is responsible for coverage and assistance at all sites.

Requirements:

In this position you must enjoy working with people while filling ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions. This employee will be fitting, and measuring frames for appropriate prescription lenses, teaching patients proper handling and care of frames and lenses, placing timely orders, providing scheduling of follow-up care and adjustments as needed, posting charges and monthly statements to patient accounts via computer, processing mail and always maintaining order and efficiency of the optical department.

Qualifications:

• Excellent computer proficiency

Education:

• Graduation from an accredited High School or equivalent

Experience:

• Minimum one-year optical experience required
• Minimum one year experience fitting frames and lenses
