SUMMARY:                          

Enhance engagement and awareness through strategic marketing, impactful storytelling, effective communication initiatives, and play a key role in managing donor relations and organizing fundraising activities.

REPORTS TO:                       

Director of Philanthropic Partnerships & Public Relations

HIRING PAY:                        

$46,800 annually

The Marketing Specialist enhances the agency's visibility and engagement through strategic marketing efforts and impactful storytelling. This role involves managing all social media platforms, creating and producing marketing materials, and supporting donor relations and fundraising activities. The Marketing Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring cohesive and effective communication across all channels, contributing to the overall mission and values of the organization. The ideal candidate is a compelling storyteller with impeccable writing skills, capable of crafting clear, engaging content that amplifies the agency’s mission.  They will also bring excellent organizational abilities and strong communication skills to effectively support marketing efforts that inspire action and build connection.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Philanthropic Partnerships and Public Relations, CEO and Development team to develop and implement annual marketing and communication plans
  • Designs and produces marketing assets such as brochures, flyers, and other promotional materials to support marketing campaigns
  • Manages website content and updates
  • Manages all social media platforms, including curating content, writing captivating copy and visual elements (both graphics and video), and engaging with followers
  • Writes a wide range of professional communications including newsletters, social media content, appeals, event sponsorship requests and donor acknowledgements
  • Plans and executes development activities, events, projects, and meetings
  • Facilitates tours of the agency for audiences including current and potential donors, referral sources, and volunteers
  • Manages and executes special events with the Development team including the annual luncheon, gala and golf tournament
  • Develops plans for donor outreach and communications, tracking results
  • Cultivates new and existing donor relationships
  • Oversees the donor database, enters donations, customizes and produces acknowledgement letters, runs donor reports
  • Provides mailing lists and pulls donor and financial reports from database
  • Manges and records matching gifts and gifts from corporate giving programs
  • Solicits in-kind donations, sponsorships and other forms of monetary and in-kind support

 

 


 

Qualifications

  • Commitment to Crittenton’s mission, vision, and values
  • Creativity and a keen eye for detail
  • Experience with website maintenance, social media management, content creation, email marketing platforms, and Canva
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail: strong database entry skills
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently
  • Ability to treat confidential information with the highest degree of privacy
  • Experience with nonprofit fundraising and/or special events as a staff or volunteer preferred
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to multitask to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Database experience required
  • Ability to be flexible (some evenings and weekends)

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field or; five or more years of professional marketing experience in the nonprofit sector or; equivalent combination of education and experience.
