Position Summary

Summary: The Marketing Intern is responsible for supporting the Marketing Team with the implementation of shopping center marketing initiatives including tenant support & relations, event programming, digital tactics, leasing marketing, and business development. Marketing strategies are focused on driving traffic that support and increase retailer sales by engaging the communities of RED’s portfolio of properties through key events, digital and press initiatives, and business development with local, regional, and national sponsorships.  In addition, this position provides support for special projects under the direction of the VP of Marketing. This role is on the Corporate Marketing Team based in Phoenix, AZ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Field Marketing Support
    • Assist the Midwest & Southwest Field Marketing Managers (FMM) with ongoing tenant communication support, including creating and updating Tenant Marketing Opportunity decks; assist with event management, coordination, and execution; assist with sponsorship fulfillment and tracking.


  • Digital Marketing Support
    • Email blasts – Assist Digital Marketing Manager (DMM) with monthly creation & deployment of 12-14 shopping center email blasts.


    • Website updates – Assist DMM & FMMs with ongoing website updates including but not limited to tenant hours & listings, offers & promotions, press links, and imagery updates; quarterly content review of all websites for updates, new content, imagery refresh; including RED Development corporate website.


    • Social Media Content Management – Assist with content creation, execution, management, and monitoring of the following property social media channels managed in-house, including:
      • The Union – Instagram & Facebook
      • The Shops at Hilton Village – Instagram & Facebook
      • Camelback Colonnade – Facebook
      • Chandler 101 Centers – Facebook


  • Leasing Marketing Support
    • Assist Leasing Marketing Manager (LMM) with research and data procurement for leasing brochures, presentations, and property capsule updates; create digital assets for Leasing Manager LinkedIn posts; assist with management of each properties photo libraries.
    • Assist with project management of vacant window graphics and leasing signage needs.


  • Development
    • Assist VP of Marketing, DMM & LMM with various marketing needs related to new development projects, e.g., Paradise Valley Mall redevelopment, Tempe Depot, The Grove; including but not limited to website updates & subscriber pulls, fence graphics & collaterals needs, event coordination, social media monitoring.


  • Reporting
    • Assist VP of Marketing & Field Marketing Managers with Quarterly Marketing Recaps for 17 properties.
    • Assist Digital Marketing Manager with monthly analytics data reporting of 19-22 websites, 26-32 social media channels, 18 - 22 Google Ads & Google My Business accounts and 11 email blast accounts.
    • Assist Digital Marketing Manager will creation of Quarterly RED Corporate Website & LinkedIn reports.


Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.



Education & Experience:

Currently pursuing undergraduate degree plus interest in one or more of the following areas: marketing, commercial real estate, event planning, hospitality or the shopping center industry.


Skills / Interests

  • Knowledge of Canva and/or the Adobe Suite (InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator)”
  • Word Press, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Klayvio or other similar platforms a plus
