Job Details

System Engineer will be responsible to support and maintain the company server infrastructure through software releases, system upgrades, and patches. Seeking for this individual to maintain the system backups as defined and monitor system configurations for irregularities.


  • Interacts regularly with IT team members in daily work
  • Assists Help Desk in their duties acting as an escalation point
  • Works with IT management on implementation of projects or resolution to urgent issues
  • Monitors and maintains the company virtual server infrastructure
  • Ensures the highest level of system and infrastructure availability
  • Proactively monitors and attends to system logs preventing system downtime
  • Deploys new virtual servers as necessary
  • Configures physical blade server environment to support virtual servers
  • Maintains Storage Area Network and reviews system errors to assure system up-time
  • Performs daily review of backup logs ensuring corporate data integrity
  • Works with Security Engineer to release system updates and patches to server environment
  • Maintains accurate inventory of company assets
  • Assists and oversees deployment of computer images to end user computers
  • Acts as escalation point for break/fix issues that cannot be resolved by Help Desk staff
  • Interacts with and escalates to vendor support when needed
  • Supports Software Engineering with server needs
  • Supports Infor ERP environment and Software Engineering staff on maintenance issues
  • Monitors and assists in resolution of server issues in international offices
  • Acts independently on assigned tasks
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related degree preferred
  • 2 years of experience in the field or related area required
  • Previous experience managing server environment
  • Proficient in Windows server operating systems
  • Comfortable with VMWare virtualization and SAN storage environments
  • Knowledgeable in Cisco networking products and general networking practices
