Facilities

Description

  • Prepare, cook and serve all meals according to the menu and dietary requirements.  This includes cutting, mixing, cooking over stovetop, baking and serving, while maintaining sanitation standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area, which meets all food safety and sanitation standards, including performing daily refrigeration and freezer temperature checks. 
  • Assist with planning food orders and deliveries.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during meal service, including supervision of all volunteers and other kitchen helpers.
  • Participate in all pre-service facility/kitchen training and scheduled staff meetings
  • Ability to maintain shift schedule, as determined by the Facility and Kitchen Managers
  • Willingness to learn about autism and participate in pre-service autism-specific training.

Qualifications

  • Over 17 years of age, high school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Completed food safety training (paid for by the Autism Society of NC as needed) prior to work or provide previously earned certificates.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
