Position Description

The Project Architect provides important experience and responsibility to a project team.  They are experienced specialists with a single passion to help others get unblocked on technical topics.  They don’t manage a team and are often a strategic resource to the entire firm.  The Project Architect is the in-house, subject matter expert for architectural detailing, assemblies, code compliance and solving complex challenges.

As a Project Architect, you will be an integral, full-time team member in our Architectural group as you:

  • Maintain a strong interest in solving problems through collaborative design and systems thinking,
  • Plan and develop or adapt prototypical architectural projects with varying degrees of complexity both individually and as part of a team,
  • Multi-task, establish priorities, and effectively communicate with team members, clients, and consultants as needed,
  • Use strong technical proficiency in detailing, with a good understanding of building and accessibility codes,
  • Ensure a high standard of excellence regarding the constructability of architectural sets with reviews throughout the phases of design and construction.
  • Show knowledge and experience in all phases of a project, from kick off to construction administration,
  • Maintain an interest in client management and ability to balance the needs of multiple project stakeholders.

A successful candidate is highly communicative, possesses the ability to motivate others to reach finite milestones, and is capable of being a knowledge expert for project teams.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in architecture
  • Architectural License
  • 10 years’ experience minimum in architecture
  • Detailed knowledge of local, city and state code requirements
  • Experience in all phases of architectural projects
  • Experience designing and coordinating complex building systems
  • Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and graphic skills
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills

 

Position Preferences

  • Public Sector work experience, especially Higher Education, K-12 education, Libraries and civic work.
  • Proficiency with Architectural software programs: Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.

 

Salary Range

This position offers $75,000 - $97,000 per year with a midpoint at $86,000.  New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience and market.
