Description

The Lift Mechanic is responsible for performing all routine maintenance procedures under the guidance of the Lift Operations Supervisor.

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Accountability

  • Ensures the safe and reliable mechanical operation of assigned lifts
  • Performs maintenance procedures and troubleshooting with minimal supervision
  • Effectively utilizes all mechanical and basic electrical tools and equipment as needed
  • Capable of learning how to operate shop equipment such as mill, lathes, presses, saws, and cutting torches
  • Become aware of manufacturers maintenance requirements for assigned lifts
  • Maintains accurate records of all work completed or in progress
  • Keeps current on all ropeway safety requirements as outlined in the latest edition of the ANSI B77 manual
  • Responds quickly and appropriately to lift failures
  • Maintains tools, vehicles and equipment in a clean and good working condition
  • Assists the Lift Operations supervisor in assessing maintenance systems, schedules, inventory and equipment needs.
  • Contributes positively to guest service opportunities
  • Follows company and department safety policies

 

Required Knowledge and Essential Skills

  • 5 years’ experience in Mechanical and / or electrical experience
  • Prior Lift experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in faced paced work environment
  • Radio protocol

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • A valid Driver’s License with good driving record
  • Flexible work schedule – must be available to workdays, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift/carry 75 pounds
  • Must be able to work at height of 75 feet
  • Must be able to stand on feet for extended time
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Hearing – to converse with others in a normal conversation
  • Balancing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, reaching above shoulders, and sitting

 

Environmental Job Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in all temperature/weather extremes
