The Oak Hall Summer Program is pleased to announce that it is hiring an Early Childhood Summer Camp Program Director for the Summer of 2023. The Early Childhood camp inclusive of Pre-K and Jump Start Kindergarten is the program option for children Ages 3 through rising K. Campers in both age groups are divided into counselor groups based on age. The goal of the day camp programs is to provide a camp program that nurtures and enriches the whole child by providing activities in a safe environment that they may not otherwise encounter daily. We want to make Oak Hall their camp home.

The Early Childhood Summer Camp Program Director requires on-site leadership from June 5, 2023 to July 28, 2023, weekdays from 7:30-4:00 (No camp July 4th). Additional time is allotted for preplanning and input on hiring decisions of counseling staff before the start of summer and can be done remotely.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Arrive on time and prepared for each camp day.
2. Design and implement calendars covering activities for each day of camp that accurately represent the theme of the session.
3. Prepare and make available to parents calendars and session specific information for each session.
4. Deliver and actively supervise daily program ensuring that session theme is intertwined in programming.
5. Determine what supplies are needed. Update supply inventory and needs on a weekly basis according to supply ordering process.
6. Work with our Counselors in a mentoring manner. You will be responsible for completing an evaluation at the mid-point and conclusion of the summer working collaboratively with the Summer Camp Head Counselor or designee.
7. Maintain an accurate roster of camper attendance
8. Maintain the camp site where your program will be held (Includes all set up, clean up, and end of summer camp closing)
9. Attend, and coordinate with Director of Operations or designee all staff meetings, if necessary.
10. Maintain a safe and clean GREEN camp community
11. Uphold the standards expected of all Oak Hall School employees during the summer.
12. Any other duties determined by the Director of Operations or designee

Physical Requirements:

• Required to sit, talk, hear and visually intercept visitors.
• Both close and distance vision is required
• Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts
• Be able to occasionally lift to 30 lbs.
• Work in a traditional climate-controlled CLASSROOM environment
• Work primarily in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat
• Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20 to 50 pounds

Minimum Job Qualifications

A. High School Diploma or GED equivalent

B. Working knowledge and enjoyment of concentration for which you are applying

C. Previous experience working with elementary-age children

D. Previous Summer Program/Camp experience

E. Demonstrate leadership qualities and sound judgment

F. Availability to work for eight weeks plus pre-planning

G. Enthusiastic, mature, and flexible

H. Desire to work with children in a day camp setting

I. CPR/FA/AED Child/Adult Certification

Preferred Job Qualifications:

A. College Degree or higher

B. 2 or more years working experience in a camp setting

C. Working knowledge and enjoyment of concentration for which you are applying

D. Lifeguarding certification

E. Professional teaching experience
