Qualifications:
- Current certification in lifeguard training or equivalent.
- Current certification in first aid and CPR.
- Prior experience with lakefront lifeguarding preferred.
- Desire and ability to work with children outdoors in the water.
- Training and experience assessing swimming skills and monitoring boat safety preferred.
Physical Aspects of the Position:
- Ability to effectively communicate and work with participants (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental cues and hazards near waterfront.
- Physical ability to respond to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
- Physical endurance, including ability to run, swim and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate waterfront equipment and waterfront activities.
- Ability to operate with daily exposure to the sun/heat and varying water conditions.
Compensation and Benefits: $15-18/hour DOQ, 10-20 hrs per week
