POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Member & Guest Services team maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. The Member & Guest Services team responds to member and guest needs and promotes memberships and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.

  • Complete required abuse risk management training.

  • Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.

  • Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements. 

  • Adhere to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

  • Ensure check-in procedures are followed.

  • Provides excellent customer service in person and on the phone with members, guests, and program participants.

  • Performs in a member-focused culture and communicates with members and guests. 

  • Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. 

  • Processes sales and properly handles cash, check, and credit card payments.

  • Ensures proper implementation of front desk procedures. 

  • Provides quality cause-driven tours to prospective members.

  • Helps maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and the lobby.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

**This position requires a minimum of two shifts per week (M-F) and four weekend shifts per month which may include early morning openings, afternoon, and evening shifts. Shift times vary between 4:30 AM - 9:00 PM each week.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen, and Blood Borne Pathogen training are required within 60 days of employment.

  • Child Abuse Prevention training is required on/before the first day of work.

  • Interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups from all social and economic segments of the community.

  • Basic knowledge of computer applications.
