Description

The Peninsula Jewish Community Center offers a rich variety of social, educational, and cultural experiences for people at every phase of their lives. The Adult Programs Manager oversees, develops and manages programs and services with a focus on people 60+. Adult programs offered by the PJCC welcome people of every background and belief to form a strong sense of belonging to a supportive community, and are designed to enhance social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual well-being. We also operate a highly respected senior transportation service (Get Up & Go), which safely transports adults who are unable to drive to life-sustaining and life-enhancing appointments. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, create budgets, and market programs, classes, and day trips, ensuring offerings reflect the vision and goals of the PJCC. Examples include arts, education, wellness, leisure, discussion groups, etc.
  • Schedule and manage talent and greet guests for weekly social engagement program.  
  • Oversee and attend select day trips.
  • Supervise Get Up & Go Transportation program, including budgeting and staffing.
  • Handle outreach to and collaborate with community partners, county agencies, and other related service organizations.
  • Represent the PJCC and Get Up & Go at county-wide senior-geared coalition meetings. 
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for Get Up & Go and other programs; coordinate volunteer relations and appreciation. 
  • Grant Reporting 
    • Maintain accurate records throughout the year. 
    • Provide data for grant reporting, and ensure that grant outcomes are achieved and information requested by grantors and development is tracked. 

 Other Responsibilities: 

  • Create content for Adult Department newsletters and outreach. 
  • Work with Marketing Department to promote programs and services. 
  • Implement regular surveys to analyze program impacts. 
  • Participate in agency-wide events, programs, and meetings. 
  • Occasional driving of clients may be needed
  • Other duties as required. 

 

Work hours may include nights and weekends, as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in social work, gerontology or related field is preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience. Master’s Degree in Gerontology or Clinical Social Work is a plus. Knowledge or interest in learning about Jewish practice, holidays, and culture required. Has knowledge and an understanding of the needs of the elderly and of available community resources to meet those needs. Must possess valid driver’s license, willingness to obtain commercial driver’s license strongly preferred.
