National Director of Charter Sales

Mayo Aviation is seeking a full-time National Director of Charter Sales to lead our talented sales team across our entire organization at Mayo Aviation, Priester Aviation, and Hill Private Aviation. If you are a highly motivated person, would love to lead a talented sales team, are committed to service excellence and love the aviation business, you might be a great fit! This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-growing company in the aviation industry.

As the National Director of Charter Sales, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the charter sales team at our bases in Chicago, Denver and Atlanta to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets. Your primary focus will be on formulating and executing sales strategies, cultivating relationships with key clients, and expanding our charter services nationwide. You will play a critical role in shaping the company's sales vision and contributing to its overall success in the private aviation industry. This position can be based on site in either Denver, Colorado or Chicago, Illinois

What we will expect from you:

  • Sales Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the charter sales team, setting clear objectives, and motivating them to achieve individual and team sales goals.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to enhance market presence, attract new clients, and optimize sales performance.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with high-value clients, corporate partners, and industry stakeholders to generate leads and secure repeat business.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in untapped markets to expand the company's charter services nationwide.
  • Sales Performance Analysis: Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify areas of improvement and develop action plans for sustainable growth.
  • Contract Negotiation: Oversee contract negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms while protecting the interests of the company.
  • Team Training and Development: Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and support to the sales team to enhance their skills, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, operations, and customer service teams to align efforts and provide exceptional service to clients.

Job Requirements:

  • 5-7 years in charter sales, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong experience in the private aviation industry, with in-depth knowledge of charter services and the sales process.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive performance.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with the capacity to develop innovative sales strategies and adapt to market changes.
  • Analytical mindset, proficient in using data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented individual with a customer-centric approach.

Education or Formal Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality or a related field is preferred.

Knowledge and Other Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of the private aviation industry, including market trends, competitors, and regulatory requirements.
  • Requires frequent travel between Chicago, Denver, and Atlanta
  • Proficiency in using CRM software, sales tracking tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with aircraft types, charter pricing models, and aircraft operations.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to meet with clients, attend industry events, and visit branch offices nationwide.
  • Background in sales or client services, hospitality or concierge

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

  • This position typically operates in a professional office environment and will involve travel to various locations for meetings and client visits.
  • Requires the ability to lift and carry sales materials and equipment during travel.
  • Some irregular working hours may be necessary to accommodate client needs and participate in industry events.
