Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) plays a crucial role in attracting, sourcing, and hiring top talent for the organization. This position is responsible for implementing effective recruitment strategies, conducting thorough candidate evaluations, and ensuring a positive candidate experience. The TAS collaborates with hiring managers and HR staff to meet staffing needs, enhance DEIB efforts, and supports Midwest Transplant Network’s (MTN) talent acquisition objectives, with a focus on building and maintaining a diverse workforce.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Collaborates with hiring managers and the HR Manager to understand staffing needs, job requirements and qualifications for open positions.
  2. Develops and implements sourcing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates, leveraging a range of channels including job boards, social media platforms, professional networks, external recruitment agencies, and community events. Implements inclusive sourcing strategies that prioritize targeted outreach, strategic partnerships, and channels specifically designed to reach diverse candidates.
  3. Acts as a brand ambassador for the organization, promoting its values, inclusive culture, and opportunities to prospective candidates.
  4. Designs job ads and utilizes different forms of media (print, web, etc.) to source and attract top talent and a diverse workforce.
  5. Reviews resumes, applications, and screens candidates to thoroughly assess their qualifications, skills, and overall suitability for the role. Coordinates and conducts phone screens and initial interviews to further evaluate candidate suitability.
  6. Develops and creates a comprehensive collection of technical and behavioral interview questions specifically designed to align with the requirements of the open position, while also exemplifying the organization’s commitment to MTN’s behavioral competencies and DEIB values.
  7. Works with hiring managers and Manager, HR to ensure candidates have a clear understanding of job requirements and expectations and are assessed against appropriate criteria.
  8. Ensures a positive and professional candidate experience by providing timely and personalized communication to candidates, including keeping them informed of their application status throughout the recruitment process.
  9. Compiles and delivers approved contingent employment offers, while effectively managing and coordinating pre-employment checks to ensure timely completion.
  10. Prepares and distributes offer letters, and other relevant documentation for successful candidates.
  11. Works together with the Education and IT teams to ensure the successful completion of onboarding activities, aiming to create a seamless and positive experience for new hires.
  12. Provides coaching and training for leaders and peer interviewers regarding the interviewing and selection process, as needed.
  13. Collaborates with the marketing and community engagement team to enhance the organization’s employer brand and recruitment materials.
  14. Tracks and analyzes recruitment metrices, including diversity metrics, to assess the effectiveness of recruitment efforts.
  15. Serves as a knowledgeable authority on employment law, legislation, and unemployment affecting recruitment, ensuring adherence to regulations while staying updated on industry trends, labor market conditions, and evolving recruitment methods.
  16. Manages the MTN employee referral program in conjunction with payroll.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Responsible for working collaboratively with the Manager, HR, and HR team to support the corporate culture of the organization.
  2. Offers support for various committee activities, including but not limited to, Spirit Committee, Wellness Committee and MTN holiday events and service awards.
  3. Performs other duties as assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  2. Minimum of one year experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or a related role required. Three to five years of experience strongly preferred.
  3. In-depth knowledge of recruitment strategies, sourcing techniques and selection models.
  4. Strong understanding of DEIB concepts, strategies, and best practices in recruitment.
  5. Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS, and other recruitment tools.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse candidates and stakeholders.
  7. Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  8. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  9. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Possess a high level of integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive information with discretion.
  11. Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  12. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant HR software applications.
  13. Must maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with MTN motor vehicle policy. Must have reliable personal automobile transportation to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines. Must be able to travel within the service area by ground or air.
  14. Ability to lift 50 pounds and transfer short distances.
  15. Possess the ability to operate telephones, computers, and office equipment.
  16. Ability to speak and communicate clearly in order to accurately convey information in person or by phone.
  17. OSHA Category III No exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing assigned job duties.
  18. Home internet and wireless phone accessmay be required.
