Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability and commitment to work collegially and collaboratively with the team, staff, and volunteer leaders
- Experience in and demonstrated interest in issues related to international and domestic human rights and commitment to Amnesty International USA’s mission
- Understanding project management techniques, including having knowledge of accountability structures such as DARCI and/or MOCHA (formal training is a plus)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a keen attention to detail
- Must be able to work on a tight schedule and be flexible to work evenings and weekends when needed
- Experience with Adobe InDesign or similar platforms is a plus
- Superior organization skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a solution-driven demeanor are essential
- Virtual event experience – experience with various platforms such as Zoom and other web meeting and event platforms
- Travel is required for meetings and conferences
- Night and weekend hours required for events
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during events
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Education and Experience
- B.A./B.S. and at least 3 years of event planning experience in conferences/summits is required
- Proficient in MS Office and experience using Excel and Google Sheets
Travel Requirements
- Domestic travel required for meetings and conferences
- Night and weekend hours are required for events
