Role Summary:
The Estimator Supervisor position is responsible for overseeing estimators and day to day functions of the estimating department. Experienced in residential and commercial estimating. Be able to perform material take-offs and proposal generation for wood framing, interior and exterior doors, windows, trim, hardware, etc. Estimator reviews plans and specifications relative to the scope of work and completes takeoffs in a timely manner.
Scope of the Position:
The Estimator Supervisor will be located at the Huntsville, AL site. This position requires <25% travel to job sites.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities expected of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Oversee estimators, assure timely completion of estimates, meet quality standards set for the department.
Work with sales to get all necessary information to do complete and accurate take-off.
Performs take-offs using his/her knowledge of the construction industry.
Computes estimates and proposals for sales representatives in a timely fashion.
Reads and interprets architectural blueprints and specifications.
Recognize inconsistencies in blueprints and communicate to the salesperson for clarification.
Conduct regular staff meetings as required

Education and Experience:
High school diploma required, four-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience within the construction industry
Related training and experience in the construction industry
Estimating or design software such as Plan Swift, Mitek, Apline or CAD is a plus.
Experience performing takeoffs on doors, trim, hardware, and wood framing. Multi-family estimating is a plus.
