*Billings-based Mortgage Loan Originator, Senior Business Lender, Consumer Lender, and Member Experience Associate positions qualify for a $2,000 sign on bonus. Bonus will be paid in two installments: $1,000 will be paid on the first paycheck following hire date with Black Hills Federal Credit Union. The remaining $1,000 will be paid on the first payroll following the employee’s 3-month anniversary from hire date. Employees who terminate employment prior to the 3-month anniversary will not receive the second payment.  Please contact HR with additional questions regarding sign-on bonuses. Payment is subject to all applicable state & federal taxes.

 

General Purpose: Responsible for providing outstanding member service while actively encouraging and educating members on utilization of ITMs and other credit union products and services.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Where appropriate, guide members to Lobby or Drive Up ITMs. Provide education for using the ITMs.
  2. Assist members with online banking support, instant issue and member select PIN requests, notaries, safe deposit box entry, ordering checks, address and phone number updates, opening sub share accounts, and changing account types.
  3. Educate and inform members of all BHFCU products and services, and cross-sell when applicable. Make referrals when appropriate.
  4. Assist members personally or by telephone; determine nature of the member's business and whether to transact the member's request or refer the member to the proper staff person.
  5. Perform teller functions as needed.
  6. Responsible for cash drawer, account for assigned cash, and accurately balance to the computer balance sheet. Sign on and off computer, according to procedures.
  7. Remain current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive, and technology environments that may affect the Teller function.
  8. Responsible for requesting members bring accounts positive and to minimum required balances and request members make payments on delinquent loans and over-the-limit credit card balances.

Other Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Research account information or discrepancies for members and staff, as directed by the Member Service Center Manager.
  2. Maintain account accuracy by working various reports, workflows, and projects as requested.
  3. Perform vault teller duties as assigned.
  4. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Job Knowledge

  1. Working knowledge of laws and regulations affecting teller transactions.
  2. Working knowledge of general ledger accounts pertinent to the department.
  3. Working knowledge of the credit union's products and services.
  4. Working knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and credit union's service philosophy.
  5. Working knowledge of safety and security program for false alarms, robberies, bomb threats and extortion.
  6. Working knowledge of credit union's in-house computer system, Internet, and any relevant software programs.
  7. Working knowledge of opening and closing procedures.

Job Qualifications (Skills)

  4. Physical Mobility: Must be able to man teller window and remain standing for prolonged periods of time. Ability to carry bags of coin or other items up to 30 lbs occasionally throughout the day.

  1. Ability to understand and follow moderately complex written and verbal instructions, and disseminate that knowledge in a clear and understandable format to others.
  2. Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  3. Ability to interact positively with co-workers, management, and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive attitude even under extreme pressure.
  4. Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner that is accurate, complete, and of high quality.
  5. Ability to analyze out of balance situations and devise solutions.

Job Qualifications (Education/Experience)

Job requires a high school level of language, math and reasoning skills. Direct cash handling experience in previous positions with equal responsibilities is acceptable. Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.

Work Environment/Physical Activities

Ability to handle fast-paced area. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Work creates normal fatigue daily. Work creates moderate stress during certain periods during daily routine. Job does not have specific volume and pace of work standards except that the job requires that members be served in the most timely manner possible. Job requires extensive member contact on a continual basis. The job calls for a degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations. The job requires a degree of attention to details.
