Description

The hiring pay range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 annually.

Essential Functions and Duties

Payroll (40%):

  • Payroll administration including benefit and 401(k) deductions auditing, review tip reporting, processing wage garnishments, reconciling quarterly tax reports, etc.
  • Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for restaurant and brewery utilizing Paycom software
  • Timely resolution of any payroll issues or inquiries that may arise
  • Booking of payroll entries and accruals into Syspro cash book and reconcile general ledger
  • Responding to any payroll related inquires and provide payroll reporting to Accounting
  • Coordinate year-end incentive calculations and payments
  • Responsible for year-end payroll duties including SCORP, W-2, PTO payouts, and annual tip reporting
  • Provide internal support for Paycom issues with employee access & manager utilization

Benefits Administration (30%):

  • Manage all benefit administration including new hire benefit meetings, enrollments and terminations, reconciling invoices, and COBRA paperwork 
  • Manage open enrollment and work with USI partners to ensure smooth and effective communication and coordination for a seamless employee experience
  • Administer FSA participation by tracking deposits/claims and reconciling balances
  • Responsible for coordinating the required ACA reporting and related tracking
  • Partner with insurance broker on benefit renewal process to include compiling required benefit census information for renewals and provide cost projections for review
  • Responsible for all 401(k) administration, plan forfeitures, tracking eligibility, and participation trends as well as leading the quarterly 401(k) meetings and scheduling educational sessions, etc.
  • Coordinate the calculation of the annual profit-sharing and deposit into participant accounts
  • Assist with wellness related initiatives, administering our wellness/employee recognition program and continuing to enhance our overall wellness program
  • Administer FMLA paperwork and track leave as needed
  • Assist managers and employees in understanding the differences in Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability, FMLA, and other leave options
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws regulating leave and other benefits

Additional Duties (30%):

  • Compile the monthly incentive update data from managers and presentation content
  • Responsible for coordinating annual Employee Health Fair
  • Responsible for responding to unemployment claims in Ohio as well as outside markets
  • Responsible for staying up to date with changing laws and regulations in regards to pay, benefits, and the general scope of HR
  • Responsible for driving positive employee/labor relations and monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Oversee employee relations issues, including researching and tracking complaints, and offering counsel to both managers and direct-reports as needed
  • Act as an impartial advocate to ensure that all individuals receive fair and equitable treatment
  • Maintain the company handbook and update as necessary
  • Provide administrative support and responsible for other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in related field required or equivalent experience

Work Experience

Minimum of 3 years in a HR related position required, including prior experience with payroll and benefits

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented with excellent follow-through
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision and easily adapt to changing situations
  • Working knowledge of payroll concepts, practices, and procedures along with HR laws and regulations
  • General knowledge of general accounting concepts (journal entries, trial balance, A/P, A/R, etc.)
  • Must be computer savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Promote safe behaviors and initiatives to create and maintain a positive culture of safety involving employees at all levels and across the company

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Paycom software
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Applications
