Applicants who apply must have at least 1 year of dispatch experience, preferably using dispatching software in transportation and/or logistics industry. Geographical knowledge of Detroit and the surrounding cities in Metro Detroit is a plus.

This position requires the ability to perform tasks successfully while working within a fast paced environment. Ability to multi-task while paying close attention to detail is a must. Customer service skills are valuable as well as the ability to operate a computer. The primary function is to timely and cost effectively direct and dispatch tow trucks strategically while providing our customers with the best possible service. Duties also entail paperwork verification and data entry.

  • Answers incoming calls as the first line of contact to the business from customers, for towing service, police impounds, and accidents. Thoroughly gathers all necessary information to determine scope of service to be performed.
  • Properly performs administrative and clerical duties including data input. Utilizes software to ensure closest qualified truck is available.
  • Determines appropriate towing service needs and dispatches to tow operators
  • Contacts customers to verify all vehicle information, determine problem and their location to ensure scheduled work performance (if necessary).
  • Communicates and dispatches to drivers verbally and via text to ensure all information is accurate.
