Description

The Manager, Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for leading and directing the day-to-day IT operations and for the direct management and supervision of the Information Technology team. The ITS Manager works closely with the Sr. Director of Information Technology regarding overall alignment of IT operations with the organizational strategic plan in support of MTN’s Mission and vision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Guides designated staff toward accomplishment of MTN’s Mission and goals; including employee selection, training and development, coaching and counseling, performance review and recognition, promotional and disciplinary actions in accordance with existing policies and procedures.
  2. Demonstrates excellence and proficiency in performing all essential functions as needed to maintain information technology operations.
  3. Plans and accountable for highly complex duties in the design, development, integration, and administration of the MTN networks.
  4. In conjunction with the Sr. Director, Information Technology Services and Sr. Network Administrator, responsible for design of MTN’s network architecture, including switching, routing, overall network services and network security, and participate in researching technology alternatives and planning for expansion of network capacity to support MTN.
  5. Troubleshoots and resolves complex network performance and connectivity problems.
  6. Identifies, recommends, and manages areas for enterprise-wide system improvement and upgrades, including trending analysis and capacity planning.
  7. Maintains oversight of the server, database, file and configuration backup and recovery infrastructure.
  8. In conjunction with the Sr. Director, Information Technology Services, accountable for IT assets, including budgeting, purchasing, inventory processes, tracking, and disposal processes.
  9. Leads the administration and maintenance of firewall products, enablement of internal and external data pathways including virtual private networks.
  10. Manages the planning, validation and implementation of system, updates and patching for network and server infrastructure.
  11. Managesinternal telecommunications network.
  12. Provides advanced technical advice, solutions, and field training to user support staff; configuring settings and troubleshooting and resolving a variety of workstation problems; performs advanced troubleshooting on network hardware, software and connectivity problems.
  13. Leads the testing and release of products and updates to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
  14. Leads and supports tier 2 & tier 3 user level support including responding during non-business hours.
  15. Collaborates with the Information Security Specialist in effectuating regular risk analyses, leading the implementation of any network related security recommendations, and documenting remedial actions as necessary.
  16. Leads scalability and growth decisions.
  17. Manages testing of the network design and failover.
  18. Participates actively in and contributes to disaster recovery planning and exercises.
  19. Manages project leadership functions for network installation projects; participates in planning and managing large migration and conversion projects.
  20. Fosters a customer support culture for all IT resources including implementing best practices.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; 8 or more years’ experience in the field of information technology required.
  2. Prior experience of a network administrator including hands-on experience in Active Directory (AD), VMware, SAN and other related technologies.
  3. Priorsupervisory or management level experience strongly preferred.
  4. Ability to support Information Service team members during after-hour emergency calls.
  5. Excellent analytical and organizational skills, managing different communication channels, and being able to clearly and concisely update internal and external stakeholders on progress.
  6. Possess strong problem-solving skills with ability to monitor own work for accuracy and thoroughness.
  7. Maintains knowledge regarding recent innovations in Information Technology
  8. Must maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with MTN motor vehicle policy. Must have reliable personal automobile transportation to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines. Must be able to travel within the service area by ground or air.
  9. Ability to lift 50 pounds and transfer short distances.
  10. Possess ability to operate telephones, computers and office equipment.
  11. OSHA Category III No exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing assigned job duties.
  12. Home internet and wireless phone access is required.
