POSITION: LRCHC Dental Receptionist

SALARY: $17.35 per hour

REPORTS TO: Dental Office Manager

LOCATION: Lake Roosevelt Community Health Centers (Inchelium)

 

Basic Functions:

The Dental Receptionist reports to the Office Manager. The ideal candidate will meet, greet, and assist patients in preparing for their dental office visits. Collects patient information, demographic, medical records, and insurance information. Helps patients in gaining information about dental services. Answers incoming calls and will either assist or transfer to the proper personnel. Handles all administrative functions for the dental operations including receptionist training, office supply orders, and scheduling. Assures accuracy of patient information in Practice Management system. Communication with dental plans for determining benefits and payment processing. Collects co-payment and other patient payments. Utilizes Dentrix as the IT application of the office needs for billing, scheduling, monitoring appointments, missed appointments, and documenting issues. Our goal for this position is to contribute to the overall patient satisfaction for their dental service experience. Works as a team member with clinical and non-clinical staff. Professional conduct, ethics, and confidentiality are expected at all times.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: 

  • High School Diploma or GED

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • 1 year customer service (required); 3 years customer service (preferred); Experience working in a dental office (preferred)
  • Knowledge of dental office procedures and general administrative practices
  • Experience using office telephone, copier/scanner, and fax machines (required)
  • Knowledge of dental terminology (preferred)
  • Excellent customer service skills, written and verbal able to multitask and is detail oriented. Requires sufficient knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation to prepare professional correspondence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using RPMS IHS software and Dentrix software (preferred)
  • General understanding of CDT coding, Medicaid, commercial carriers, and general healthcare billing guidelines (preferred)
  • Ability to exercise patience when dealing with internal and external customers, and conveying technical concepts
  • Ability to use Microsoft computer applications (required)
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate cultural sensitivity
  • Must pass background check

Physical Abilities:

Sitting, weightlifting up to 50 pounds, bending/stooping, crouching, twisting, reaching, operation of equipment tools, foot controls, etc. Requires sufficient hand-eye-arm coordination utilized to operate a variety of general office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers. Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations over the phone and in person.

Licenses and Certificates:

Requires a valid Washington State Driver’s license and must be eligible for the Tribes vehicle insurance and maintain throughout employment. CPR/First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens training required annually. HIPAA and Privacy Act training and certificates required annually. 

Working Conditions:

Work is performed indoors.

Special Conditions:

A background clearance may be required. Tribal member and Indian preference will apply.  Preference will be giving to honorably discharged veterans who are minimally qualified. Documented Covid-19 vaccination is required. Professional conduct, ethic, and confidentiality are expected always.
