Part-Time Job Opportunity:

Job Summary: 

The Dishwasher is responsible for washing and properly storing all cooking and serving utensils.  This is an at-will position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1  Gain knowledge and understanding of Park District policies and procedures and see that they are adhered to at all times.

 

2.  Attend district-wide part-time staff orientations, crisis trainings and office staff trainings as directed.

 

3.  Comply with the District’s Dress Code by coming to work in clean, presentable clothing.

 

4.  Wash all dishes, silverware, utensils, glassware, etc in the dishwashing machine or by hand. 

 

5.  Polish all silverware, platters and chaffing dishes as necessary.

 

6.  Collect trash from kitchen areas; empty garbage barrels; wash and reline.

 

7.  Wash and clean receiving area and trash areas.

 

8.  Sweep and mop dish area.

 

9.  Clean dishwashing machine after each meal period.

 

10.  Be courteous and helpful at all times.

 

11.  Observe and follow all Park District safety policies and regulations.  The safety of staff and participants is a continuing responsibility of all employees.

 

12.  The District encourages its employees to “take ownership” of the District.  As such, it shall be the responsibility of all Park District employees to pick up litter throughout the buildings, grounds, and facilities of the District.

  1. Ability to accept constructive criticism and/or supervision.

 

  1. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to new situations.

 

  1. Must be punctual and dependable. 

 

  1. Should be able to work in a team atmosphere, as necessary, promoting positive and effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and external customers.

 

Qualifications:

Must be a 16 years of age.  Must have or be able to obtain within 30 days of employment – Illinois Safe Food Handler Certificate.  Must be dependable and able to follow direction.
