  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science related field or equivalent experience.
  • Two to three years’ experience of systems administration, network administration
  • Two to Three years’ experience of technical planning, project management, and documentation.
  • Two to Three years’ experience using problem-solving skills and hardware and software tools to diagnose and solve server and network problems.
  • Possesses a strong commitment to patient well-being and safety.


  • Provides support for server hardware and software including Parkside’s electronic health record, pharmacy, anti-virus, claims, IS servers, and the Computer Room’s UPS.
  • Responsible for operating system installs, upgrades and patches to all servers.
  • Designs and maintains the active directory. 
  • Performs restorable backup of servers by creating and testing procedures.
  • Administers, maintains, trouble shoots, local area networks as needed to ensure continuous business operations.
  • Installs and trouble shoots network printers, network switch hardware, network cabling and connectivity as needed.
  • Maintains firewall hardware and software. Monitors related log file and alerts.
  • Responsible for network and server inventory control including hardware, software, printers, IP addresses.
  • Assists the Director with hardware and software maintenance agreements when needed.
  • Performs project management; works with Director to identify necessary project tasks, estimate task duration, expected completion, and overall project completion dates.
  • Assists with the establishment and enforcement of policies and procedures standardization, use and upgrade of all computer hardware, software, and related components, and provides for a secure environment.
  • Answers the Information Technology Help Desk phone when needed.
  • Requires minimum supervision in performance of job duties; is a self-starter.
  • Participates in the department’s continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
