MetalTek – Wisconsin Investcast has a current opportunity for a Level II or Level III Radiographic Inspector. Here you will have an opportunity to lead our Nadcap Radiography department and grow its capabilities to meet the increasing demand for our advanced investment castings. We are looking for a dedicated and trustworthy individual with current Level III experience or with Level II experience and an interest to gain certification in additional NDT techniques such as liquid penetrant inspection (FPI, MPI) with a longer term goal to achieve Level III certification.  You would be working alongside our current, long-time Level III to learn our processes with the ultimate goal to take over and expand the position’s responsibilities.

 

  • Review customer and industry NDT program requirements and implement necessary changes to procedures and methods.
  • Develop, review, and approve techniques to ensure proper procedures are performed on parts to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage production throughput in the
  • Direct and/or perform radiographic operations including selection of appropriate techniques, positioning of materials, exposure of film/DDA panels, developing techniques, etc. to identify and assess defects in castings and repair welds.
  • Perform all darkroom procedures to develop film and/or process digital radiographic images.
  • Interpretation of results to determine whether parts pass or fail inspection based on knowledge of codes, standards and customer specifications. Prepare necessary documentation and certification.
  • Direct and assist in maintaining the radiographic inspection area, inspection room and radiographic equipment as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate records of inspections and process logs as required by the method and participate in Nadcap accreditation activity.
  • Take ownership of the X-ray and other NDT areas to increase technician and process efficiency, assess people, equipment and technique needs.
  • Actively work to increase technical and leadership skills in the field of Non-Destructive testing (NDT).

Qualifications

To be successful the candidate should have the following attributes, skills, or experience:

  • High School diploma or GED and post High School education in NDT or a technical field preferred
  • Certification or ability to be certified to RT Level II, to SNT-TC-1A, NAS-410 & Navsea Tech Pub. 010/271. Level III certification a plus.
  • Experience with DDA (digital X-ray) protocols or DDA Level 2 certification desirable.
  • Able to work independently, follow written and verbal instructions, and direct others in a positive manner.
  • Strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and team player.
  • Desire to increase technical and leadership skills in the NDT field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Office, Excel, PowerPoint).
